Much of the displacement APF responds to in Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda begins here. Reaching Eastern DRC directly lets us stand with communities at the source of the conflict, not only after they have fled it.
Decades of armed conflict in the eastern provinces of the DRC have driven waves of displacement across the Great Lakes region. Many of the Congolese refugees APF serves in Nakivale, Kasaani, and Gihembe trace their journey back to these same communities.
APF is extending its ministry of fellowship, trauma healing, and practical welfare support into Eastern DRC itself — partnering with local churches and leaders to reach those who have not left, as well as those preparing to return.
This is an early and growing part of APF's work. As relationships with local partners deepen, so will the scope of outreach, discipleship, and relief efforts on the ground.
